In the halls of academia, who truly stands tall—
The one who writes papers, or the one who answers the call?
The researcher climbs, with grants in hand,
Citations grow, applause is grand.
While in a classroom down the lane,
A teacher gives, with little gain.
Hearts inspired, minds set free—
Yet no spotlight, no victory.
One is funded, praised, and known.
The other? Often walks alone.
We measure what’s published, indexed, and ranked,
But not the souls by whom young dreams are banked.
Without great teachers, where would scholars begin?
Without both hands, how can education win?
It’s time to ask what we truly treasure—
Knowledge produced, or the human measure?
Let’s not just reward what gets a citation.
Let’s value the spark that fuels education.
